Web Developer (PHP/MySQL)

Looking for a web development gig with friendly people and a great company? Look no further!

Bam Creative are on the hunt for a talented web developer to join our young, friendly team, initially as a contractor, but likely to be more permanent in the near future. You would be expected to work out of our Inglewood, WA offices.

To be considered for this role, you must have;

  • 2+ years developing PHP web applications.
  • Built at least 3 applications using PHP.
  • Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Knowledgeable with JavaScript, CSS, xHTML, XML, Ajax.
  • Familiar working in a Linux environment.
  • Be comfortable working in a small team and prioritising workload.

Ideally, you would also have:

  • A solid understanding of OOP using PHP5.
  • Experience with an MVC framework like CakePHP
  • UI design and usability skills.
  • Experience building rich interfaces using ExtJS or YUI.
  • Use source control systems to manage development and testing of code.

Our dream candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience with PHP 5.
  • Solid MySQL skills.
  • Solid development skills, experience working on complex web applications.
  • Great problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with Subversion.

This position would be perfect for an intermediate developer, who wants to work on some exciting projects with a bunch of similar minded folk. Ideally, we’d have people who could give us full time hours immediately, however we’d be interested in hearing from anyone who can give at least two days per week.

The Bam Creative office is set in Inglewood, and we provide a large library of design/development books, regular social outings, an arcade game, cappuccino machine, beer fridge and free parking during business hours.
